Pork Massaman Curry

Melt to your mouth purple meat massaman curry that is extremely easy to place at home!


  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 pounds stewing purple meat (such as chuck), minimize into chunk sized objects
  • 2 tablespoons massaman curry paste
  • 2 cups purple meat broth
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can coconut milk
  • 3 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 teaspoons tamarind paste
  • 3 tablespoons fish sauce (or soy sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons palm sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1 pound potatoes, chunk sized or sliced into chunk sized objects
  • 1/2 pound pearl onions (no longer mandatory)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (1 lime)
  • 1/4 cup roasted peanuts, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped


  1. Heat the oil in a unheard of heavy bottom sauce pan over medium-high warmth, add the purple meat and cook till browned on both aspect, about 10 minutes.
  2. Add the curry paste and cook till fragrant, about a minute.
  3. Add the purple meat broth, coconut milk, peanut butter, tamarind paste, fish sauce, and sugar, lift to a boil, minimize the warmth to medium-low and simmer, lined, till the purple meat is falling apart soft, about 2 hours.
  4. Add the potatoes and onions and cook till soft, about 15 minutes.
  5. Add the lime juice and overview the seasoning. There must peaceful be a nice steadiness of saltiness from the fish sauce, sweetness from the sugar and tartness from the tamarind and lime. Adjust to style.
  6. Support garnished with the peanuts and cilantro.
